The story of the vine and wine are inseparable from the history of man through the ages.

Wine was considered a gift from the gods : the Egyptians attibuted it to Osiris, the Greeks to Dyonisos, the Armenians thought of Noah as the first wine maker.

The scenes of the harvest or offerings of wine to the gods the bunches of grapes or the twigs of the vines were often used as the themes for thr frescoes of the Egyptians tombs, passing by Greek Bacchanalias through to the more mysterious attitude towards the process of making wine that was a characteristic of the Christians.
