Original: Luba Mask in African wood (D.R Congo)

King Kongolo founded in 1585 the Luba empire. With its apogee, it counted a population of a million people divided into various tribes living in the south of the current Democratic republic of Congo. Weakened at the 19th century by people come from Angola and the Moslems slave raids, it breaks down at the 20th century with colonization. The king, of divine origin, directed the court subjected to a sophisticated ceremonial which generated a great ritual number of onjets. the woman is the principal topic.
